We went on a 1 week trip to Germany & Switzerland… mostly Switzerland, just touch & go in Germany. Armed with a brand new Nikon D90, the photos did turn out quite good.

1. Munich: It was -3 degrees C when we landed! But overall, our first experience of Germany was quite positive.

2. Zurich: Somewhat of a mix of Amsterdam & Paris. A LOT of churches, clock towers, trams!

3. Lucerne: By FAR the pick of the trip! The hotel (Des Balances) was outstanding, and highly recommended.

4. Mount Pilatus: I had been here before, and luckily this time too, the weather was also awesome up the mountain. The cable ride up was not without chills (for Aathira)

5. Interlaken: Base for all mountain expeditions. Ended up being the place we experienced real-time snowfall first time!

6. Basel: As the weather up on the mountains were extremely stormy, we decided to change plans and hop over to Basel for its warmer weather. Did not disappoint, sun was out, and I had some deja-vu moments from my 2004 trip here.

7. Jungfraujoch: Decided to travel up to the highest railway station in Europe. Was a slight disappointment as we had to stay indoors (minus 16 degrees C with wind speeds of 75 kmph outside!)

8. Bern: Officially the capital of Switzerland. Quite a “Normal European city”.

9. Stuttgart: Highlight - The Porsche Museum. They even have a Mercedes Museum, but we had to choose one of the two.

We went Downtown for lunch, next to Burj Dubai the other day. Seems the Burj is nearing completion, they’ve even fixed the antenna at the top. Here are some pics.

I was expecting the pictures to be rather spectacular, but in the end the odd angle of the window from which I took the shots, and some distortion from the same meant these didn’t end up as well I had hoped for. Nevertheless, here they are, there’s a faux-70’s feel to the mess I made of the levels adjustment

My company was a sponsor of the Dubai leg of Shah Rukh Khan’s Temptation Reloaded tour, and we ended up in Dubai Festival City for the show in October. It was UNBELIEVABLY crowded, so crowded that I seriously doubt if I’d ever go for another Bollywood show of this scale!
I hadn’t taken my camera fearing trouble with Security, so here are some snaps, courtesy Abhishek G.

After more than a year away from the city state, we decided to make a short trip to Singapore. Quite a weird feeling returning, considering I had lived here for over a decade!

Singapore’s Changing Skyline.

We stayed with Viv & Sayesha, and even wasted some time watching the rather pointless ‘Oye Lucky, Lucky Oye!’

Chilly Crab!!! Big ticket item on our agenda!

Rain in Siglap, Thai Express

Telok Kurau, our home for 2 years!

Chinese Medicine Shop. The usual items like Ginseng, Birds’ Nest etc.

Katong…

… and the famous Katong Laksa!

Temple at Joo Chiat

Food court… many of which we found out have moved upmarket!

The new Singapore Flyer. Great views!

Formula One Pitstop. Looks rather run down after the very first (and successful) night race!

Rowing…

Clouds roll in…

Esplanade and City Hall

Construction of the New Integrated Resort, In other words, Casino

Met up with Shruti, MK…

… and Nick.

We even visited one location we somehow had never been before in Singapore - Arab Street. How ironic!
