Switzerland / Germany Trip

We went on a 1 week trip to Germany & Switzerland… mostly Switzerland, just touch & go in Germany. Armed with a brand new Nikon D90, the photos did turn out quite good.

1. Munich: It was -3 degrees C when we landed! But overall, our first experience of Germany was quite positive.

Munich

2. Zurich: Somewhat of a mix of Amsterdam & Paris. A LOT of churches, clock towers, trams!

Zurich

3. Lucerne: By FAR the pick of the trip! The hotel (Des Balances) was outstanding, and highly recommended.

Lucerne

4. Mount Pilatus: I had been here before, and luckily this time too, the weather was also awesome up the mountain. The cable ride up was not without chills (for Aathira) :)

5. Interlaken: Base for all mountain expeditions. Ended up being the place we experienced real-time snowfall first time!

Interlaken

6. Basel: As the weather up on the mountains were extremely stormy, we decided to change plans and hop over to Basel for its warmer weather. Did not disappoint, sun was out, and I had some deja-vu moments from my 2004 trip here.

Basel

7. Jungfraujoch: Decided to travel up to the highest railway station in Europe. Was a slight disappointment as we had to stay indoors (minus 16 degrees C with wind speeds of 75 kmph outside!)

8. Bern: Officially the capital of Switzerland. Quite a “Normal European city”.

Bern

9. Stuttgart: Highlight - The Porsche Museum. They even have a Mercedes Museum, but we had to choose one of the two.
